Developed in Lib Tech’s experiMENTAL division, the Skunk Ape is designed as the ultimate dream board for larger riders seeking power, stability, and versatility. With input from Trevor Phillips, Krush Kulesza, Neil Green, and Kurt Jensen, and featuring a lightweight construction, this board offers both on-piste performance and float in powder.
Riding Profile
Geared towards larger, powerful riders. Suitable for riders from around seventy kilograms who enjoy aggressive carving and freestyle in a variety of conditions.
Shape
Directional twin with a slightly longer nose and mild taper. This shape provides float in deep snow, while the tail remains short enough for switch riding and park features. The nose is designed to be slightly relaxed so that knuckles don’t get caught on rails.
Flex
Medium stiff with a rating of 7 out of 10. Offers sufficient support and response for powerful carves, while still maintaining enough resilience for freestyle tricks and presses.
Construction
Built with ultra-light HP construction, making the board lighter for the forefoot when walking and getting on the lift. This construction makes the board more maneuverable and less tiring.
Float in powder
The longer nose provides extra float, so you can easily glide through deep snow without getting stuck. The delayed nose shape ensures you keep pushing through smoothly.
All Mountain
Agile on hard slopes and fast carves thanks to the directional twin shape and firm flex.
Freestyle
Ready for park features, presses and switch tricks thanks to the twin tail and co-designed for larger riders.
Powder
The longer, floaty nose and three-stage float make this board suitable for deep snow and tree runs.
Resort to backcountry
Light enough to easily climb the lift, sturdy enough for step-hut intensive descents.
Graphics designed by Quincy Quigg, with a visually powerful and artistic style that matches the size and attitude of the board.
